Description
Our GOTS Representative in North America, Lori Wyman, is thrilled to announce that she will host the first ever GOTS roundtable in Toronto, Canada, in October 2022!
Alongside fellow GOTS staff members, members of the textile press, representatives of brands & textile companies, and other professionals in the field of textile processing will be present.
Agenda
- 9:00 – 9:15: Kurt Muller, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Art and Design presents the Land Acknowledgement. Dr. Sabine Weber, Seneca College School of Fashion Arts will give her welcome.
- 9:15 – 10:00: GOTS overview with Lori Wyman, GOTS Representative in North America
- 10:15: Load bus for field trip
- 11:00 – noon: Tour of Fine Cotton Knitting Factory
- 12:30 – 1:30: Return to campus for lunch and mingle
- 1:30 – 2:30: Case studies of companies who have chosen to be certified to GOTS: Melita Cyril, CEO of Q for Quinn; Melanie Cunanan, VP Design & Production Development at Pehr
- 2:30 – 3:30: Who needs to be certified and what is involved at the various steps of the supply chain with Joshua Jarman, Certifier for Control Union Certifications and Rachel Moreau, Textile Business Lead for Ecocert.
- 3:30 – 4:00: Kim De Lallo, Member Relations & Business Development Manager for the Canadian Organic Trade Association will address legal labeling of organic textiles in Canada and will share new marketing data from COTA’s recent Annual Report
- 4:00 – 4:30: Recap of the day and Q&A
