Certification bodies must demonstrate their qualification and expertise in the field of organic textile quality assurance prior to their approval in an accreditation process specifically developed for GOTS. Accreditation is conducted by valid accreditation body such as the main partner for this process, International Organic Accreditation Services (IOAS). GOTS approved certifiers must adhere to defined requirements related to qualification of staff, advanced training, content of their inspection protocol and other related quality aspects.
GOTS recognises that Certified Entities may need to change their Certification Body (CB) or migrate to another CB for a number of reasons. This section gives a link to the GOTS Policy for Change of Certifiers.

Global Standard gGmbH (GOTS) acknowledges that several independent individuals or companies have been offering expert consultancy services to the textile industry to achieve Certification to GOTS for textile operations or receive approval for chemical inputs in producing and consuming regions around the world.
GOTS also acknowledges the fact that there is a need that such individuals or companies are vetted and approved by GOTS in order that they disseminate correct knowledge to the textile industry. GOTS has therefore formulated a policy to the end that the industry will receive correct and accurate knowledge about the requirements of the Standard and the processes and procedures necessary to be followed within the operations of a GOTS certified entity.
