Product Owner: Global Trace-Base (central platform for traceability and tools)

Reports to: Head of IT

Join us at Global Standard gGmbH, a mission-driven non-profit organisation dedicated to setting the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Owner (remote position) to play a key role in our mission.

About us:
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres and sustainable practices, setting strict ecological and social criteria for the entire textile value chain.
To support our activities and those of our business partners we are operating and continuously developing Global Trace-Base (GTB), our central traceability database. It holds data related to the certification of our standard and potentially that of other sustainability standards. It is intended to be further developed as a tool for managing value chains in accordance with relevant supply chain legislation.

Role Overview:
As the Product Owner, you will be the driving force in managing the further development of GTB according to business requirements. We invite determined, dedicated individuals with a passion for application management to join our mission.

Key Responsibilities:
The Product Owner is responsible for managing all processes relevant to the successful and reliable operation of GTB as well as its ongoing development, including supervising the uninterrupted operation of the system and its data quality, eliciting and documenting new requirements, guiding the external development and operations team, training and supporting system users, and last but not least, communicating at a strategic level internally and with external stakeholders.

Start Date: At the earliest.

Qualifications / Expectations:
•    University degree with an IT-centred major
•    10+ years of experience in software development
•    3+ years of management experience in software development
•    Hands-on experience in agile projects or in DevOps is an asset
•    Advanced language skills in English, CEFRL level C1 (see self-assessment grid)
•    Proficiency in German is an asset (CEFRL level C1)
•    Systematic and logical working style
•    Strong communication and teamwork skills
•    Ability to work independently and self-motivated in a remote home-office position
•    Willingness to travel regularly (mostly) within Germany and Europe
