Not all products manufactured or sold by a certified operation may be GOTS certified. Please check whether the products show the required correct and complete labelling at the time of purchase.

The search form contains four search fields. Search terms can be entered/selected in one, several or all search fields depending on the specificity of the search.
The ‘free text’ field allows any free text terms to be entered, e.g. example names of companies, licence numbers, specific products or processing steps.
Please note: If your search for a license number isn't successful, please try searching for the number value only (e.g. "12345" instead of "CB-12345").
The other three fields contain lists of determined terms:
The search field 'product categories' provides for terms related to basic groups of textiles and garments in the fields 'product categories' and 'product specifications'.
The search field 'fields of operation' provides for terms related to basic processing and trade activities in the textile supply chain in the fields 'fields of operation' and 'specification of operation'.
It should be noted that the terms listed in the search fields 'product categories' and 'fields of operation' are not used equally and consistently in the various data sets. If a product category (e.g. 'babywear') is selected, only entries in which this term was used by the certifier providing the data will be shown. If 'baby' is entered into the free text field instead, more search results for companies producing any kind of babywear will be found.
If a country is selected in the search field only results from this country are shown. The country names are used consistently in all entries to the database. If a country is selected without using/selecting any other search fields, all certified companies in the selected country will be listed.
The data fields shown on the main page of search results are always the three fields 'company'. ‘country' and ‘product specifications’ even if the search term was found in another field. All the fields of the data set that contain entries are shown in the section 'details'.
Entries to the database cannot be used as a definitive verification of the valid certified status of a company and its products. To receive appropriate proof of the certified status of a company (e.g. as a potential supplier of GOTS certified products) check the copy of the Scope Certificate, available on the company’s database entry. If this is not available, the company should always be asked to provide its GOTS Scope Certificate. This certificate must have been issued by a GOTS approved certifier and should show (among other information) the supplier's details, the scope of the GOTS certification and the period of validity. In case of doubt, the authenticity of the certificate can be reconfirmed by contacting the issuing certifier with the name and certificate number.

The database only contains data of entities that hold a GOTS Scope Certificate. Occasionally additional facilities are sub-contracted by certified entities to perform specific processing steps within the scope of their GOTS certification. These facilities are not displayed in this database.
The supplier of GOTS certified products should provide a 'Transaction Certificate' issued by the GOTS certifier, to ensure that the products of a specific shipment/delivery are certified. The respective Transaction Certificate must list the product and shipment details of the applicable delivery.
All information in this database is uploaded directly by the responsible Certification Body (indicated in the 'details' of each data set). Certified entities that observe any incomplete or inaccurate information in their data set can only get it corrected by contacting the responsible Certification Body. Certified entities that are not listed in the database within one month after their initial certification was granted should contact the responsible Certification Body and the administrator of the database. A message should be sent with the subject ‘data base-missing entry’ with a copy of the GOTS Certificate of Compliance (=Scope Certificate) to allow the administrator to cross-check the status with the applicable Certification Body.
