GOTS Representative in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

(full-time, remote, March 2024)

Report to: Head of Regional Representatives

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria. The Global Standard non-profit organisation is charged with executing the Global Organic Textile Standard programme.

Your key responsibilities include:
•    Contact and input marketing activities (active acquisition) towards brands and retailers.
•    Organise (initial) individual consultancy for companies towards GOTS certification.
•    Organise promotional events for the industry.
•    Represent GOTS at industry and academic events.
•    Contact and provide inputs to general/consumer oriented and to professional textile/fashion media.
•    Liaise with government bodies to protect GOTS interests.
•    Education (lectures at universities/schools and to consumers).
•    Collaborate with GOTS Marketing Unit on regional promotions.

Your Qualifications and Experience:
•    University Degree (Bachelor/Master) in textile management, sustainability, environmental science, human rights, or related field.
•    5 to 10 years of relevant work experience, e.g., as part of a CSR department in textile company, textile production landscape, quality assurance or related areas.
•    Sound knowledge of textile supply chains, international social and environmental norms and standards.
•    Excitement about the textile industry and affinity for sustainable innovations and development.  
•    German native speaker, with excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English, other languages are welcome.
•    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and readiness to learn.
•    Efficient communicator with excellent public speaking skills.
•    Good interpersonal skills and ability to network and utilise internal and external resources.
