HR Specialist (full-time)

Remote position with occasional travel

Job Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and experienced HR Specialist. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our global team developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, and nurturing a positive, inclusive work environment. You will manage various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance, mostly within our digital operational framework.

Your Key Responsibilities include

  1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top-tier talent for our global team.
    • Oversee the entire recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, and offer negotiations.
    • Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires, integrating them effectively into our virtual workspace.
  2. Employee Relations:
    • Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing timely and confidential guidance and support.
    • Promote a positive and inclusive organizational culture through proactive communication and engagement initiatives.
    • Address and resolve employee conflicts and issues, escalating to senior management when necessary.
  3. Performance Management:
    • Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to ensure fair and consistent evaluations.
    • Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on performance-related issues.
    • Identify areas for improvement and facilitate professional development opportunities for staff.
  4. HR Policy and Compliance:
    • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in line with our vision and mission
    • Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations across various countries and regions.
    • Conduct regular audits of HR practices to maintain compliance and mitigate risks.
  5. Training and Development:
    • Identify training needs and coordinate the delivery of relevant training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
    • Support leadership development initiatives to build a strong and capable management team.
    • Promote continuous learning and professional growth within the organization.
  6. HR Systems and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and databases.
    • Generate and analyse HR metrics and reports to inform decision-making and strategic planning.

Your Key Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed Bachelor's degree specialising in HR or very successfully completed commercial training with further training as an HR specialist
  • Relevant professional experience in operational HR work and knowledge of labour law
  • At least 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a non-profit or international organization.
  • Strong understanding of global HR practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a virtual environment.
  • Proficiency in HR software and digital collaboration tools.
  • Very good MS Office skills in all MS Office packages
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex employee relations issues.
  • A healthy sense of humour and balance of confidence and humility
